Remedial works to Public right of way affected by Badger activity
The following sequence of images shows works undertaken by Elc for Worcestershire Countryside Services and under license and supervision from Natural England to make remedial repairs to a public right of way which due to Badger activity had caused subsidence of footpath and thus this had a closure notice in place as it was deemed unsafe to use.
The brief was to install pipework to connect the "live" Badger tunnels and provide stabilsation to the path by introduction of geotextiles and chain link to prevent Badgers re-digging in the area of the footpath.
The contract was completed in one working day to minimise disturbance to the Badgers.
Due to heavy use and sever erosion, mechanical regrading and the introduction of grips to divert water from the pathways was carried out over several years.
